Make it stand out while addressing your target audience.
When presented with the opportunity to create an alternate cover for a book I thoroughly enjoyed, I was excited. This project presented some unexpected challenges.
I wanted to take an element from the novel to integrate without using elements from already existing covers (see examples below).
I took some time to research the audience of the book as well as putting together some themes, inspiration, and concepts before I began designing.
Using primarily Photoshop, personal photography, stock imagery, and dedication I was able to create something that I feel embodies the story as well as staying true to the origins.
